11/11/2019Bimi Poke is hands down, one of the best poke bowls I've ever had my life. May and her other associates are so friendly, and I make it a point to stop here every Friday night on my way home from work. It's become my tradition and now I look forward to it every week. The fish is fresh, and full of flavor.
I've also had their sushi burritos and they are very, very good. Salmon skin burrito and shrimp tempura burrito are 10/10!
I wish they had a frequent card (buy 10 poke bowls get one free) that would be awesome. - Diane T.San Francisco, United States

Came here after a long day of shopping. It was late in the evening and things were winding down at the store. The fiancé and i just finished shopping and decided to grab a quick bite to go before heading home.
Overall the poke bowl was okay. Pretty mediocre and not too memorable. The freshness of the fish was okay. Options were limited and I felt like the portions were smaller than other parts of the city.
Would I come back? Probably not. Is it a nice quick lunch option? Absolutely. - Nari M.San Francisco Bay Area, United States166 friends156 reviews380 photos
25/11/2019Bimi is one of those poke places that doesn't allow unlimited toppings. Which makes adding extras pricier.
I ordered through Grubhub. My meal arrived on time and modifications were correct. $6 extra for avocado, tobiko and kimchi. Rice to protein ratio was on point. I ordered spicy tuna and fresh salmon poke. The fish tasted fresh and they didn't skimp either. Their bowls come with soy beans, corn, garlic chips, seaweed salad and crab salad. I asked for extra spicy mayo and spicy wasabi mayo on the side just in case they didn't put enough sauce. The initial portion they added was perfect.
I would definitely order from them again. - Bonnie Z.San Francisco, United States
19/11/2019I discovered Bimi Poke through MEALPAL. Even though I work in FiDi closer to Embarcadero station, I like to take MUNI down to Yerba Bueana area to grab this for lunch.
My go-to is their SALMON POKE bowl. It comes with fresh salmon marinated well in shoyu, imitation crab that's not drenched in mayo, edamame, corn, and a sprinkle of red cabbage, green onions, and sesame seeds on top. The fish was fresh and had good flavor. It didn't have any overpowering sauces so you could still taste the fish. The portion was just right, especially for MealPal. However, I would have liked a little more veggies in here (maybe some mixed greens or seaweed salad).
All the bowls are freshly made. However, for MealPal users, this means they won't make your bowl until you scan your QR code. You may have to wait a bit while they tend to the regular customers.
I want to come back and try their spicy tuna bowl or regular ahi tuna bowls. - Adam B.San Francisco, United States

I do like poke, but they're *everywhere* now. However, I love sushi burritos and they're not as common (yet), so I went with that as my lunch. The "Meh. I've experienced better." Yelp description definitely applies to this one.
Curry Fish Ball Appetizer: A bit too fishy. I get that it's a fish ball, but like sushi, the good ones don't smell/taste too fishy. Also, it was a bit skimpy on the curry sauce and the curry sauce wasn't that thick so not much stuck to the ball.
Spicy Tuna Burrito: It's no Sushirrito. Kinda felt like an oversized spicy tuna maki roll. The only unique spin was the crispy onions, which were nice, but kinda sparse. Additionally, the spicy mayo portion was also kinda stingy. So it ended up being quite bland for lack of creative ingredients.

6/8/2019Hi , Adam
Thanks you so much to come by , for our sushi burrito we are doing sushi style ,triple size of the sushi roll, all the ingredients is simple to taste the fish and more protein inside , not like other burrito a lot the veggie inside ! The burrito size is the same , if more veggie, just simple reduce the protein , if you like more other ingredients that you can create you own one ! Again thank you for coming !Read more

6/7/2019I was a bit discouraged from ordering food at this poke place after seeing all the Yelp reviews. Fortunately, the poke was better than I expected!
All the toppings were fresh, including the fish. They even had sashimi slices which was really interesting. I was given a decent portion of fish (hopefully it isn't because an employee may have suspected that I'm a Yelp user).
At first, the employee only sprinkled a little bit of ponzu sauce, so my food was kind of plain. I ended up asking for more sauce and this helped a lot. I can imagine myself coming back here. To me, one protein for $9.50 is cheap. I didn't order any extra toppings since $2 is kind of pricey. At other poke places, extra toppings are typically $0.50 to $1.

Overall: 4.5 stars
Location: 4.5/5
Bimi opened recently and is located in the Metron AMC food court, so would be an easy but great option for some food after movies.
Food: 4/5
Mark and I both tried their unagi bowl. I got the salad bowl and Mark had the brown rice bowl. The bowl also came with seaweed salad, corn, cucumber, and a masago. Very tasty! We would love to try their poke counter next time.
Service: 5/5
Very friendly staffs! They are very friendly and gave us some recommendations. When they were preparing my unagi bowl, they kindly asked how much sauce I want and reminded me that some guests think that the unagi sauce could be a bit too sweet.
Price: 3/5
The only drawback in my opinion is probably the price. It is $16 a bowl and the portion isn't very large. Mark could def eat two bowls.

21/7/2019Hi , Angela
Thank you so much for coming ! Unagi is the one very expensive ingredients and it is the best tasted one , not all the poke bar they willing to sell unagi , so it is a little higher price . you can only have that in sushi restaurant , the Unagi bowl price higher than you order the chirashi bowl ! or maybe some Poké bar , but not all of that. Also we have baby octopus that is the whole piece octopus , Poké bar only selling slice big octopus that must cheaper too ! We also have different fish you should try and compare and find out how is different ! ^-^
Hope see you soon

22/12/2019Bimi is very generous with the fish... and cut the sashimi to order. I was impressed with the quality of ingredients. I ordered the sushi burrito; which is one of my lunch-obsessions. Bimi hasn't figured out how to make them so that they don't fall apart unfortunately. But I imagine they are great with poke.

8/6/2019Based on taste alone:
This is quite possibly the worst poke bowl I've ever had. The $14 price tag (tax included) for only two proteins does not include avocado, ginger, wasabi, or tamago. The brown rice is soggy, like almost watery tasting, the tuna is old and mushy (see photo), and the temperature is not cold enough.
This is my first meal out in SF since I moved to NorCal a week ago, I'm disappointed in my choice of location which was made bc I wanted to sit in the grass and see the Yerba Buena garden festival outside. - Sophia D.San Francisco, United States
22/9/2019Poke is poke, and all poke tastes the same to me here in the Bay Area. Nevertheless, this was a really solid poke spot! Just wish the prices were a bit lower :( every poke spot I've been to their small is 2 scoops, medium 3, and large 4 scoops. At Bimi their small is 1 scoop and their large is 2!! For 2 scoops it was 12.95+tax which made it almost $15. They kinda skimp on all of the extra toppings too. Every poke spots uses those black circular plastic containers, and for a size small you're usually given the shallow one and for a large you're given the deeper one. I got their "large" size and was given a shallow container, the amount of food inside the bowl just wasn't enough to justify a large portion/15 dollars.
Understandably, this establishment is in downtown San Francisco but the portion in my opinion just didn't justify the price. My friend and I both agreed that their large size was more of a small/medium at any other poke spot and should've been $9-$11, not $13.
For the amount I did receive though, it was honestly really good and I did finish all of it! This place gets a 3.5 in my opinion but the lady working there was super friendly so I'm rounding up to 4. :)

Thank you so much for coming to try our poke bowl , the size you order is 2 protein that mean is medium , not the lager one , Other poke mostly is veggie on around it , than fish on top , even though said 3or 4 scoop is kind small , every scoop is few pieces , you can buy that to compare , in bimi , you paid what you got is fresh , big scoop, for that we all the scoop is plain fish, quality as sashimi , , not dressing not veggie to cover the fish tasted , just decoration, you can put more attention on it , feeling what’s different !
Thanks again , see you next timeRead more

13/9/2019Mealpal review on the Salmon Poke & Crab Rice Bowl
Good portion of salmon and imitation crab. Looks like a 2 protein bowl (normally $12.95) looking at the menu as crab salad is considered a protein
Tastes and looks like a standard poke bowl you could get in the area. One thing different was that the rice was seasoned with vinegar which at some poke bowl places, the rice is just plain rice, this was a nice distinction that I liked.
I also recognized one of the employees at Bimi and I believe she might have worked at Sushi Taka. Sushi Taka is one of my favorite poke bowl places in the area. To me, seeing her there ensures a type of quality control or at least familiar flavoring of the fish. - Mary A.Daly City, United States0 friends15 reviews16 photos
10/12/2019I wanna keep coming back to this place. How come i never knew about this spot? This spot is one of the best spot they opened at Metreon! Something different! Most of the stuff there, i've tried already. I wanted to try the sushi burrito near montgomery but i just never go down that side, but i was soooo happy when me & my A1 found this place! We legit had to ask someone that was sitting on the table where they got theirs. It was the perfect timing too because it was after work, didn't even had my lunch time yet so eating this made me happy, sorry scratch that SOOO HAPPY! It's must. Try it!

10/8/2019this is legit my fave poke bowl shop right now. the owner is a previous sushi chef for ten years, and she really knows her stuff. Hamachi sushi is sliced beautifully, and its great quality. salmon is really fresh and cubed perfectly. She really knows and quality and wont skip quality for quantity. this is what you want when you get a poke bowl, and its literally what I've dreamed of having here in SF for almost ten years. The one thing I might comment one is they didnt put enough sauce, so there wasnt a lot of taste. If I went back, I'd ask them to put more sauce on my fish. Thanks Bimi Poke!
Poke bowls have recently become a huge trend in SF and everywhere else, but I've been recently frustrated by the lack of subpar quality sushi, fillers with tons of ingredients such as corn or carrots (which dont belong in a poke bowl and is not tasty!), and confusing sweet sauces without any sesame oil or soy sauce taste. Thank god Bimi Poke has finally opened up, because it has satisfied my desire for a quick poke bowl with the same great sushi taste. Bimi Poke is more than I dreamed of! - Pras C.Northeast Washington, Washington, DC, United States
16/4/2019Stopped in to pick up a poke bowl very early (10:30am) because I saw online they were open. Food was already out on display. I was in a hurry.
One employee in back setting up food. Another on her phone and avoiding looking at customers. Two employees out front. One (male) incapable of using the cash registry, answering questions or serving food. No explanation like "oh he's new".
So I waited while the other employee, female, served the customer in front of me at great length and rang up her check and then returned to serve me and rang up my check. She opened a pair of disposable chopsticks to serve the tamago and avocado toppings I ordered. (Ummm... Did this place just open today?)
The whole time her colleague just stood there and did nothing like some kind of prince. All I could think of was the gender pay gap and how her male colleague is probably (statistically) being paid more than her to stand there and literally do nothing.

I love Bimi Poke and don't understand the vitriol in so many posts.
Sure, it's a bit pricey, but this is in a prime location in the AMC Metreon near Yerba Buena Park. Everything here is 20-30% higher. And $14 for a filling poke bowl doesn't feel that crazy to me
I find the bowls delicious. It's Chipotle stile, so you customize everything - the fish, the veggies, the toppings, and the sauces. If you are nervous, they have a few preset combinations. I love the poke sauce with wasabi mayo and all the toppings.
Service is friendly. They've always been willing to give me extra veggies when I ask.
There's plenty of seating inside the Metreon, as well as a number of dessert places, coffee, and boba tea.
I'm so happy to have a like place in the neighborhood. Realistically a 4 star place, but giving it five stars to compensate for all the strangely low reviews.

I am not a fan of poke bowl place because ...
- uses lower grade fish that are subpar to be used as sushi
- handled by people not consistent in proper food handling
I have watched my friends ordered from here several times ...
I saw the quality and proper food handling ...
and they never had food poisoning from here (guinea pigs)
Many places are getting better than the 1st gen poke places
Good portion
Good quality on all the material used ...
ex no blemish on the leafy veg
One of the rare places that I am willing to get poke.

24/7/2019This is my go to place for a poke bowl, usually via MealPal.
Today i walked 20 minutes each way from the FiDi in the blistering 80+ degree heat for a salmon poke and crab rice bowl. It's that damn good!
I would go here every day if it wasn't such a long trip. What make Bimi Poke better than the vast array of competitors is the freshness of their ingredients, serving size and taste. The colors and presentation of the bowls are excellent as well. Let's face it, everyone likes pretty things.
And for MealPal, the serving size is excellent contrary to what some other whiner mentioned previously. I challenge that joker to get a MealPal poke bowl elsewhere and report back.
My only request is to open another location in the FiDi. - Tracy C.San Jose, United States
12/7/2019I was in San Francisco for the week and I was staying around the Moscone Center area. I was walking around the area often throughout my trip and decided to try this place after passing through their building. I ordered a regular bowl and was given a generous amount of salmon/crab meat. They had a variety of toppings and sauces to add on to it such as daikon, corn, seaweed salad, masago eggs, etc. I was pleasantly surprised that the poke bowl I ordered hit the spot! The cashier was nice and attentive to my requests as well.

Half brown rice / half salad. The price was pretty good for what I got. The portion was decent. Poke is my go to healthy eat out option. Location is pretty good, it is inside of Metreon. I probably will go there from now on if I need a quick bite before catching a movie.

7/11/2019I've gotten at least 5 poke bowls from this place by now, and I've been very happy with all of them. Their fish is fresh, and the scoops are more generous than many other poke places I've been to in SF. The overall portion size is big enough for me to feel solidly full, but I don't feel stuffed since poke isn't a particularly heavy food.
Some personal favorites: I usually like to get half rice and half salad as my base, which is an option you can ask for, although more rice probably soaks up the sauces better. Salmon is a solid go-to for my protein, and I like poke sauce and wasabi mayo. I've tried the baby octopus once, and it was very tender and tasty; I would say it was worth the extra dollar.
The ladies working there are very polite and friendly, and the location (food court at the Metreon with plenty of seating) is great. I really hope this restaurant stays around for a long time!
