Poor quality at a reasonable price. So many TVs I felt like I was in the electronics section at a Best Buy. It is Rathdrum so maybe this is the best they have. I suggest drive right past this place and head to Coeur D'Alene or Hayden Lake for something else.
Dive bar and do not expect more. That being said free jukebox and friendly staff. Drinks are reasonably priced and poured with a heavy hand. Smoking is allowed inside and seems to be popular with the patrons. You might want to hold an unlit cigarette in your mouth so you have a filter to breath through. I am saying the place is smoky and you will smell like smoke the rest of the evening. Even with the smoke I like the place and suggest it for a quick stop to get your buzz started.

Bad food, overpriced beer in small mugs, over priced shots in small shot glasses, horrible service, wannabe Hooters, loud bad 80's hair band music. But hey they got free pool. As much as I want to like this place I can't. Service is beyond slow even when the place is dead. No waitress service by the pool tables? Hello that's where the drinkers are. I can not understand an establishment that puts more time and energy into making witty t-shirts for their staff than they do on serving the customer. Please get a clue or do the world a favor and shut down!
Well even though my one experience at Oishii was horrible I ended up going again. It was even worse than the first time. Service was slooooooowwwwwww. Martini's $12??? Your kidding me right, this is North Idaho not Beverly Hills. We ordered the ceviche and man was it bad. I have had ceviche many times and never had anything like this. It was hunks of tuna that tasted as if it has been frozen and chunks of tomato, that was it. Look on line for a ceviche recipe and trust me you will make it better than this place. It came with some chips and a funky melted cheese sauce that turned into cement after a couple minutes. In addition I have confirmed from other sources that a good quantity if not all their fish has been previously frozen. They say that their fish is served within 15 hours of being caught but that is untrue, I have friends that have got pieces that were still frozen in the center. If you want to serve frozen fish be honest about it. A real Sushi bar should only sell the freshest of product or not serve it at all. Please save your money and go somewhere else. If you are a Sushi lover and have experience eating quality sushi this place will only make you mad.
I had never been to Oishii Sushi before and was excited to find a place with good sushi in the inland northwest. That being said, I visited the new location (new owner as well) and was very disappointed. The decor of the new place is a modern take on a 30's-40's gangster theme, complete with wall mounted tommy guns. The look was exciting just because it was not the standard wood decor that is overplayed in the area. The wait staff was dressed in red dress shirts, black slacks and black fedora hats, OK got the gangster theme. I went to the bathroom, because I figured that the theme would be carried throughout the entire place, I was wrong. The men's bathroom was a boring tan with a sink and toilet, not even a gangster toilet (whatever that could be). Now that the style was all taken in, lets get to the food. Unfortunately, the only thing more bland than the bathroom was the sushi. The wait staff that served us basically had no knowledge of sushi. You can take a cute girl and dress her in a cute style but if she doesn't understand what she is serving whats the point. The bright spots of our meal were the cucumber salad (sunomono salad which we first ordered but the waitress didn't know what that was) was fresh and very tasty and the ahi poke, which was fresh, well portioned and prepared nicely. Now for the downside of the food. The portions of the sashimi we ordered were small for the price. I have paid less and got more in much more expensive cities. The rolls were the taste of sticky rice and not much else. For a place that touts itself as cutting edge sushi with high pedigree chefs, I was underwhelmed. When the bill for $100 dollars showed up, not too expensive for quality top notch prepared sushi, I felt cheated. It is my understanding that the owner has been preparing sushi for 4 1/2 years, a beginner in the sushi world, and in that time he has opened 5 restaurants. My advice would be to get some help from a knowledgeable sushi chef and learn the art. It is better to have one top quality restaurant than 5 mediocre ones. I am afraid that Oishii Sushi has chosen style over substance and that once the summer rush is gone they will fail if they do not change things quickly.
41 South is in the same location as The Landing used to be. During the summer they have wonderful outside seating that looks onto the river/lake and is absolutely beautiful (especially during sunset). I went there not to long ago as was very impressed how the place is being run. The owners definitely are looking to step up what is "the usual" in North Idaho. The service was impeccable from the time we walked in the door until we left. We started in the bar by a roaring fire to warm our bones and have a cocktail. The drinks were good. The wine list is varied and has many options (more than most places here). The menu is not huge but what they do serve is excellent. I had the potato encrusted sea bass with lobster bisque sauce, oh yeah. The fish was cooked spot on and everything was perfect about the dish. My co-diners had the kicked up version of a beef stroganoff which they said was awesome. We were enjoying the place so much we finished with Paul's Killer Brownie desert, if you like brownies, vanilla ice cream and chocolate do not miss this desert. To accompany the desert we had a couple glasses of a 20yr port. We dined, we left the place floating. This place isn't cheap but it shouldn't be for the product and service they are offering. Impress you lady or man. Have a romantic night at 41 south the pay off will be worth it.
