This is most definitely our local. We live within 2-3 minutes walk of the Crown and try an go there for a meal and a drink at least once a week. The staff are very friendly and helpful, especially Nigel.
The food is cooked very well and is excellent value for the money. There is a well varfied menu to cater for most tastes. And when you've dined, there is also a great desserts selection - you just HAVE to try the Mega Sundae!
The pub recently underwent an internal facelift which has made it even more attradtive. The choice of beers, wines and spirits is great. I would have no problem in recommending this lovely local.

This would be my 'local' and is located on Great Horton Rd. There are a load of pubs from the top of this road stretching a couple of miles down into town. In fact, many a pub crawls have begun here and ended up then late at night in the city centre. The place itself is fairly modern inside and reasonably spacious. They tend to make a big effort around to keep track with the seasons (xmas stuff etc). There are definitely much cheaper places to do your drinking and very rarely will this place have special offers. The food that they serve (Mon-Sun) is of a good standard for your average pub. They have a pool table and many plasmas around to watch the sport on. As well as this, there are a number of teams run through the pub, such as the pool team, darts team and a rugby club is strongly associated with them.
