Located inside Lugner City Mall is Okiru Running Sushi. In the states I've never heard of running sushi, so to discover it here in the city was quite a treat.

However, every time I come here, it's packed, and you can't make reservations for this place. I've come here at night and also at the random hour of 3pm on a Friday, and it was still crowded. So, that's usually a good sign, when a place is full.

It's really fun to be able to sit down with your friends and in front of you is a rolling conveyor belt of different assortments of foods like sushi (some of them even dyed in colors, or presented with fruit on top) noodles, fried shrimp, rice, beef, chicken and veggie dishes, sesame seed balls, and the occasional tiramisu. Soy sauce and wasabi is included.

I enjoy my running sushi with a hot cup of jasmine tea.

Overall, Okiru Running Sushi is a fun place to check out with tasty foods to try. I suggest you give it a shot!

50% off to all restaurants and cafes in Lugner City for just one day? I had to take the offer and so I decided to go to Okiru! I have to say I'm surprised that some of the reviews are really bad. I absolutely enjoyed it. Some of the sushi were very creatively done, for example, with berries on them, etc. Various types of sushi were available, as well as many small portions of other Asian dishes. Everything was very delicious and new things were added to the conveyor belt almost all the time.

The place itself is also nicely made, although it might get tricky for those who are not sitting exactly next to the conveyor belt, because then they have to reach far in order to get some food or ask someone else to take something for them. But then again I think this is usual with running sushi restaurants :)

The place was very crowded though - it might have something to do with the special -50% offer which they had, but I have heard that it can get very hard to get a seat also at any other time. But I think this shows how popular the restaurant actually is. Waiters were still quite nice even if they had to work very hard due to the huge amount of guests.

the normal price for running sushi at lunchtime is 11,90 €, evenings - 16,50 €. I think this price is totally acceptable for what you get here; it's definitely worth it! :)

Best running sushi in Vienna in my opinion!
They have everything here: from the popular salmon sushi, fried rice and noodles to chicken, duck and desserts such as fried bananas, teramisu, tapioca, fried sesame ball, chocolate cake and of course, fruits. Their various maki selections are very interesting as well! For example, maki with red, green or yellow rice, or with seaweed, fish egg, mayonnaise or even whipped cream and fruits on top, or maki wrapped with a thin crepe pancake! There are still many many more kinds...!
They have delicious dishes too, for example, fried chicken coated with sesame seeds or almond flakes, shrimp, beef or chicken stir fry, shrimp, calamari and chicken on a stick, salads, sweet potatoes, fried shrimp, squid, chicken, potatoes etc etc.... If you are lucky, the staff might walk around with a tray and offer you fresh smoothies or ice cream! The staff are all very hard working and friendly even in a very busy environment. If you want something that is not on the sushi belt, you can also ask for it and they will try to get it for you.
You can sit in for as long as you like, no time limit unlike some other running sushis. Unfortunately, they don't take reservations so you might have but the waiting time is usually not too long and this restaurant is definitely worth the wait!!

Okiru is becoming worse every day. Offer is terrible. Its a sushi bar with fried potatoes or chicken nuggets?
And they intentionally keep good stuff for rush hour times even though they charge the same at 17:30 or 20:00.
I enjoyed coming here but I will probably stop coming here.
