I love this hotel! We're stay here for two days when we come to Barcelona for vacation after a transatlantic cruise.
The hotel is not very big in a quiet street surrounding by many busy streets in the area has a lot of good restaurants. You can find somethings to eat with many different style restaurants within 15-20 mins by walking!
I have talked to three different gentlemen at the front-counter from time to time. They all super nice, and they all speaking good English! This hotel has a little restaurant inside. It doesn't open all the time. But many restaurants just located within one to two block from the hotel.
The lobby is not very big, but clean and has many chairs. Free WiFi also available in the lobby for the hotel guests who received the password when they check in to the hotel.
The room we have is upgraded with a nice big balcony on the "A" floor. It is between the lobby "B" floor and the 1st floor. The rooms is not very big, but it is normal hotel room size in Europe. The balcony is a big plus after all day walking! You can try to requests the rooms in "A" floor, room 9, 10, 11 and 12 all included a nice balcony with a table and two chairs.
Check in and check out is quick and easy. The front can call a taxi for you when you check out. Taxi from the hotel to BCN Barcelona International Airport is less than 30 mins even at the morning Between 7-9am. It take only 15 mins at night. Taxi cost about $40 to the airport, $20-$25 to the cruise ports.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Phill C.Los Angeles, United States326335199024 Oct 2011First to Review
This hotel was awesome! I booked in advance so I ended up getting a great price, plus it's conveniently located a few blocks from the Hospital Clinic metro station. The neighborhood was quite nice, with plenty of places to eat, drink, snack, munch... you just have so many options. Plus it's only a couple metro stops from La Rambla, where you'll find so many freakin places to pig out.
The hotel staff were all great and the rooms were even nicer. Nice hardwood floors, comfy beds, plenty of closet space, flat screen TV, and a very nice bathroom.
They also have a restaurant and bar, which I didn't have a chance to check out, but they both looked very nice. The free wifi was a bit slow, but I was just glad I had a working internet connection.
Hotel Zenit was excellent, especially for the price and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Maryelle S.Napa, United States01028 May 2012
Another pleasant hotel. I am not giving it 5 stars because I was disappointed with the location. We wanted to be in the Ramblas area and it was too far from that destination. I suppose we were spoiled with our Madrid hotel wherein we were a couple of steps away from the heart of the city.
Positives:
Clean and modern, energy conscious
Wifi - slow and inconsistent
Service - Reception/hotel clerks were very welcoming, friendly and patient
Restaurant - Delicious breakfast, quality ingredients, friendly serviceHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Eric G.Gary, United States6030256922 Mar 2014
I stayed here when I visited Barcelona in 2011. I remember this being a lovely hotel and thankfully it wasn't too far from the Metro station, which is a plus. The room I had was very energy efficient (lights automatically turned off when you left the room)....a bit tiny but for one person it was just enough. The staff was really nice as well and made me feel welcome. It was in a good spot for me from the various nightspots and La Ramblas was a nice brisk walk away, which helped me to burn calories while in the city.
My 5 stars is probably a bit jaded from my overall enjoyable time in Spain but I would definitely stay here again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Cindy T.San Francisco, United States1717742622 Jan 2013
Very cute hotel in a quiet neighborhood. They have a great buffet breakfast with wonderful selection of meat, cheeses, juices, eggs and sausages. A few bars in the area. We knew this was a little out of the way from the typical touristy area but we didnt mind taking the nearby metro as this was part of the charm of travelling! WiFi was reliable and you can ask for a European converter with a refundable deposit when you return it (5 or 10 euro, forgot).

Was not really expecting...but you really need to look for this place, its not in the main street area which can be an upside or downside. but luckily the subway was near by. the room was small..We really spoiled in Venice with the hotel and breakfast (which you need to pay for in order to have continental breakfast) we went in sept 2011 and we friendly service people but none of them were consistent through out the day...

We would rate it as average 3* hotel, couldn't compare it with other 4* hotels we have stayed in other countries. Things we didn't like - the room was VERY small, the restaurant staff unfriendly to the guests, the window was with view to the opposite wall of the building. Things that were OK - reception staff was nice, the location was OK - the city center can be reached in 15 min by foot, the price (125 EUR per night incl. breakfast) comparing with overall hotel prices in Barcelona was OK. Our special discovery close to Hotel Zenit Borrell (approx. 5 blocks from the hotel )was very nice, quiet, romantic restaurant named El Petit Travi on Mallorca 202! We definitely would suggest it!
