Forfars Bakers

You need to read my review of the Forfars in Brighton to know where this is coming from but ...anyway, I will carry on regardless. I love the eccles cakes from Forfars and the rest of their products look really good too- sandwiches, chelsea buns, sausage rolls- all good classic stuff at low prices. It's just the smell!! This Forfars smells just as stale and strange as the one in Brighton- like stale old oil. I still hold my breath and run in and buy eccles cakes though!

In the pedestrianised area of Lewes High Street, just near the Cliffe Bridge is the Lewes branch of Sussex bakery Forfar's. It's a small shop that sells all the usual, quality Forfar's goodies. Everything from pre-made sarnies through to lovely cream cakes (the caramel chox bun is amazing) as well as some hot snacks like steak slices and bacon butties. It's hard to resist stopping by if I'm passing.
