Secrets! Secrets right on my doorstep. Ancient secrets tied inexorably with the history of Sydney, NSW and Australia, secrets involving the eminent Henry Lawson.

I live in the neighbourhood and came upon this only by chance, so this really is one of those ones you need to know someone who knows about or, idk, stumble upon it during your Saturday morning suburban orienteering. Flat Rock Gully is riddled with secret bushwalking trails and bike and running paths, they go under freeways and follow streams and wend past pieces of history like Aboriginal art and hidden sculptures and sandstone amphitheatres and my favourite, Henry Lawson's Cave, where the great man himself used to come to sleep off a big night on the drink at the local pubs up the road. Poetic, no?

I've explored maybe half of them, who knows what I'll find in the other half. You'll pass the odd person but more often than not you'll have this bush wonderland all to yourself.
