El Carretón

Portions were really big. The food - which includes many grilled meats - was good but not exceptional.

Good place with good deals :) Solid four stars. Might have been a five if my steak was cooked right.

I asked for my steak medium rare and got it well done. But it was still good :) I had mine without any sauce and i rubbed it down with salt and pepper when i got it. My friend had the mexican sauce one which looked good as well. The Canarian potatoes were awesome because of the sauce that they had here. This was the best canarian potato sauce i've had in gran canaria. the veggies were also surprisingly awesome.

Also had a bit of my friend's paella. Great as well :) def a must try place.

the people were super friendly and they opened the back for us to put our bikes in :)

Totally careless about COVID. The chef and the owner were all night long without masks and the chef was coughing carelessly all night long. According to other reviews it happens all the time.

The food is not bad, but stick to meats. Fish was not of the quality I expected and was a bit dry. You should be prepared to wait for your service and twice I had to remind the waiter of what I wanted - once for the water and once for the dessert menu. Suggestion to the restaurant: add more Spanish dishes to the menu, gazpacho and muss de gofio are the most obvious ideas.

Local recommendation. A solid four star! Good quality for the good price. Waiters treat you very well.
