Expansive open-air beer garden located near the Rhine River that extends to the nearby park/field with quick service and lots of beer, Kolsch, cider, and liquors available. Bring 1 friend, bring 10, there's room for everyone. There is a 1 euro deposit charge for drinking glasses, so make sure you return them to the kiosk before you leave to get your buck back. I wouldn't recommend the snacks (pretzels and pizza) just by the looks of them (didn't try it).

Nice biergarten having great views towards Rhine, at least in the evening you could choose from sunny or not-so-sunny table. Though the place was almost full, i.e. seems to be very popular.
I addition to the very nice Schneider Weisse beer, I had a pepperoni pizza. Not sure if it actually had any pepperoni as such in it, but it did not really matter since it was very tasty and also spicy. Not 100% sure about price but I think it was 6,5€.
The only minor negative thing I could think of is that in my traditional mind a Biergarten should serve also some sort of sausages... Oh and the beer was somewhat on the expensive side, but for the quality Schneider Weisse product I'm willing to pay some extra.
Would I return? Yes, sure. A nice place to enjoy a beer (or three) while watching the traffic on the rivier!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - p s.Bonn, Germany018231 May 2011
if you are visiting in bonn, i would recommend this place along the rhine for a glass of bier, nice atmosphere on sunny day, not suitable for rain:)
and then u can take the ferry along the rhine, a few steps below the bier garten....perfect place to hangout with friends !!!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tom W.Newnan, United States041931 May 2019

This is a fun beer garden to visit when in Bonn, a very short walk from the university and town hall square. It is very picturesque underneath the huge beautiful tree, and beside the Rhine by Kennedy Bridge, a nice cold glass of Kolsch firmly in hand!
The waitress was very pleasant, despite my useless German and her little English, we managed to get by humorously enough by signals and guesswork!
I would advise getting the pizza rather than the pasta however, which was kinda weird in its ingredients and served without Parmesan cheese.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sandra T.Seattle, United States2627624 Aug 2011
Alter Zoll is absolutely my favorite hang-out spot in Bonn! Imagine sitting in the shadow of a beautiful old tree, looking out at the Rhein, and sippin on a cold beer on a hot summer day. Bliss! It's a great place to come with a group since it has dozens of long biergarten-type tables and benches, and if there is no more table room, one can always grab a beer and sit on the grass on the big field right next to the biergarten. The food is also delicious. I've sampled a couple of their pizzas, and the fresh pretzels are to die for. I will miss this place tremendously when I leave Bonn!
