Acapulco's stands out in Enfield as a non chain restaurant. You don't need a reservation and the time to be seated is negligible. Staff are highly attentive and are quick to answer any questions on the menu items. The food options are extensive and there are choices for the little ones. The decor is terracotta painted walls and decor are reminiscent of a Mexican cantina.
The chips and salsa are brought to the table and there is no charge. I opted for the blue moon margarita with a sugar rim. Main choice was carne asada (skirt steak) with refried beans and rice. Guacamole and a roasted jalapeño were added to the platter.
Everything else as delicious.
Acapulco's is conveniently located in a plaza with a parking lot on one of the not too busy intersections. If you go, enjoy yourself and respond to this review!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 2 Apr 20241 check-in
We went for a family lunch before Easter. It was very busy but we were seated right away. Two in our party had margaritas and said they were very well made.
I have a gluten allergy so I made the waitress aware. She was very knowledgeable and offered GF suggestions. I had the Enchiladas with chicken. Very good. The rice was excellent. My daughter had a chimichanga. Also very good. We had churros for dessert. They were warm and delicious.
Decorations are authentic as well as the food. Recommend!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Loren G.Enfield, United States0625 Apr 2024
Me and my husband had a dinner date at Acapulcos. The service was different from what we normally would have at other restaurants. But food was to die for. It was absolutely delicious and the drinks. You need a Designated Driver after drinking two margaritas !! It was basically more alcohol than anything. We enjoyed our night

Website says Authentic Mexican Cuisine. I've been to many places in Mexico; can't say this was authentic to any of those places. Bland, overly-Americanized and, quite frankly, not prepared well. Guacamole was doused in lime; chicken wings (I didn't order; were ordered for the table) were breaded, fried and dried. Other apps not much better. Rice and beans everywhere. Enchiladas Jalisco (entree) were not satisfying in any way. Not sure how much of that was due to them just being bad, too many apps, or a little of both. No reason to come back.

Came here again recently for lunch and actually was pleasantly surprised by how good everything was!! I had a burrito and my hubby had the Puerco Adovado both were great but his was delicious! The pork was well cooked and very well flavored. My son got chicken tenders which tasty fresh, hot and crispy.
The first time we came I thought the food was hit or miss based on what you got but this time our meals were great. Not sure if it was better because of what we ordered or if there is less consistency in the quality but will certainly come back to find out!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 015 Nov 2022Previous reviewCame here for the first time for dinner on a Saturday night around 5:30 or so and the place was already busy! We had a 15 min wait or so which was not bad at all!
My first thought as I sat down was you can tell this place has excellent service and runs like a well-oiled machine. We were seated in a booth and chips and salsa were waiting for us there. The service was incredibly attentive, drinks and food came fast and everyone was very friendly.
The chips and salsa were great, my son devoured them. The regular house margaritas with salt were very good. Didn't like the spicy version very much. My son enjoyed his Apple juice too! ;)
Now the food...
I wanted to love this place because I read a review on here from someone who is also from California and appreciates the excellent Mexican food that is found there. I came here with high hopes. I can say the food was pretty good but maybe I was overall disappointed because I was expecting a lot.
My tacos were good, not amazing but I enjoyed them. The side of rice and beans were average. The whole fried fish was quite bland. Some people may like the fresh, simple flavor of fish cooked in that style but we like seasoning and flavor and it was lacking in that area.
I think we would come back here for drinks and the atmosphere and perhaps try other things on the menu too. Good place for groups as well! - Kristi L.Southwick, United States05513319 Mar 2024Updated review
We've been going here almost weekly since they opened years ago and everything is still good. There's no better Mexican food in town. The top-shelf margaritas are amazing and all the food is delicious, they'll even spice it up if you're into authentic heat!

We often just pick up a few appetizers for the weekend -- chips, queso, salsa, quesadillas, etc. Delicious!!

So I totally forgot to check in here last night (shows how tired I was!!!).
We picked this spot based on the Yelp reviews and it was along our route home from a day trip. We had a great experience! They were very nicely staffed (I know that's something a lot of places are having challenges with right now) so our drinks and food came quickly. The Ultimate Margarita is the one to choose (I highly recommend Corzon Tequila), no sour mix in these, and fresh lime juice for the win! One of the best margaritas I've ever had in a restaurant. Hubby had the pork carnitas and I had the chicken flautas, both were very good and accompanied by good rice and beans. If we're in the area again, we would definitely go back.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - 20 Apr 2023
We met a couple friends at Acapulco for dinner and drinks on a Saturday evening. I settled on the top shelf margarita which was super tasty but relatively weak. I didn't mind as I was able to have several.
For dinner I was looking for something lighter and opted for the fish tacos, which I gravitate towards if the restaurant has them grilled (rather than fried). They were a very simple grilled tilapia with onion, cilantro, cabbage, and a cilantro cream sauce. The meal also came with rice and beans which I didn't eat much of (but they were good).
Great spot that I'll definitely return to.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Gregory L.San Francisco, United States2245119 Feb 2024
This is the SPOT. Drinks, Food, Service, Atmosphere. Amazing Mexican food and the drinks are always properly made. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.
